PROPERTIES UNDER DEVELOPMENT

WCHR, along with key strategic partners and the City of Worcester, works to provide families an affordable, safe community through restoring and preserving Worcester area neighborhoods. Our new homeownership initiative focuses on the Crown Hill neighborhood. WCHR began renovations of a three unit condominium and a six unit condominium new build in the
fall of 2006 and completed them in the summer of 2007.

19 Oxford Street- Full Rebuild

This house is within the Crown Hill historic district, located two blocks from the Central Business District.  This charming condominium will have two 3-bedroom units and one 1-bedroom unit.  Work that was done included installation of new plumbing, heating and electrical systems, and restoration or replacement of all interior surfaces. The historic exterior is retained with energy efficient windows and insulation. On site parking is available with 2 deeded spaces per unit.

2 Quincy Street- Complete New-build

This is an exciting project for WCHR, as it is our first new build.  This vacant lot was the site of two dwellings that were demolished in the 1970’s and has become an eyesore to the neighborhood.  It invites substantial littering requiring neighborhood and city clean up year after year.

The development of this site will not only remove existing blight, but will also provide affordable owner-occupied housing in a location that will support and enhance other developments in the Austin and Piedmont Street area.

The building has been designed to provide high amenity value, with features like individual entrances, energy efficient design, on site parking and a landscaped yard, along with much more.
